The mini section summer training sessions got underway this evening, being the first one many people were not in attendance (shame on you!!!). Those who attended, Paul Parker-Brice put them through their paces, starting with a warm up session and touch rugby game. The introduction of the bleep test really tested the tired old legs of the older generation and the young players enthusiastically turned on every beep and forged forward and kept up a great pace. It was great to see how long the adults managed to keep going, although the youngsters put them to shame!
Further training involved passing team games, improving ball control and more fitness work. Feedback from those involved said that it was a great fitness workout, Steve George (mini chairman), glistening with sweat, trying to get his breadth back managed to squeak out that he didn’t realise how unfit he was and this summer training was going to get him into shape – whatever shape that is who knows!
There is no training next Thursday as it half term but the following Thursday it will be on again, hope to see you all there.
