Music and curry night- Saturday 26th January

Following the afternoons impending Pelicans victory and to get rid of those January Blues we are holding a Music and Curry night at the club, terrific duo ‘Mouth on a Stick’ will sing songs from 60′’s through to the 90′’s acoustically, while you can eat, drink and be merry. Ticket cost will be only £15 per person, for the curry and the music. Please let Sir Les Chaffe if you are coming along: leschaffe@yahoo.com or book in via facebook. It was a brilliant night last time, therefore do not miss out this time
Singer/bassist (Howard) and guitarist (Keith) – both formerly of 80s rock band ‘Liaison’ – renew their musical relationship in this energetic and fun acoustic duo. Performing a variety of hits and album tracks from the last 4 decades, the pair mix dual vocals with acoustic and bass guitar. Both talented singers, they share the lead and backing vocal duties during their diverse set of rock and pop covers.
Mouth On A Stick specialise in the eclectic. They are not your average duo – nor do they wish to be. Their set consists of a carefully chosen mix of songs from the 1950s through to the present day.
We think you will be pleasantly surprised by the song choice – from award winning pop singles like Elbow’s ‘One Day Like This’ and ‘The Fear’ by Lily Allen to pop/rock anthems such as Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born To Run’ and ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ by The Who.
There are also some obscure gems that you will undoubtedly remember but rarely hear these days. Brian Protheroe’s ‘Pinball’ and ‘Dance With Me’ by Orleans being two such examples.
And just to keep you on your toes, there are a few classic album tracks like Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’, from their million-selling ‘Rumours’ album, or Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ from the album of the same name.
So please don’t be upset if you don’t hear ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ or ‘Mustang Sally’ – we like to leave that to the others.
Little Rugby Academy Barnardos Big Toddle @ Pinner Show (video)

Little Rugby Academy’s Annual Barnardo’s Big Toddle in association with Starbucks Pinner, Pinnora Photography and Pinner Christian Fellowship was held on 17th September 2011 in Pinner Memorial Park at the Famous Pinner Village show.
After setting up the stalls everyone started to arrive, children were excited and so were the parents, looking up to the sky we could see dark grey clouds but they were not going to dampen our spirits. We all donned our special T-shirts and walked over to the pathway then on the stroke of 11.30 we all (25 of us) started walking round the park in and out of the stalls collecting money for Barnardo’s.
Everyone was very generous even when the heavens opened and for 10 minutes rain fell heavily. Mind you, this only helped us as people were hiding from the rain, we just pounced on them and again they donated graciously.
At the end of the walk most of us drenched we swiftly went over to our Sponsors Starbucks Pinner stall and had our well deserved Coffee, Tea and Fruit Juice. It was a fantastic day, seeing all the children have great fun walking round the park enjoying the rain, but above all being sponsored to help all those Under 5’s who don’t have the same opportunities that we do.
Barnardo’s Big Toddle the UK’s biggest fundraising event for the under 5’s was again a great success. This short walk has made a big difference to children’s lives.
Have you been mugged yet?

No need to worry, this is not an announcement from the Metropolitan Police or a lengthy debate on pensions!
No, this is about the new club merchandise that is now on offer.
Have you been nominated for player of the week?
Or had a fantastic photograph of you in action playing rugby?
Bored with the same old photos in a frame gathering dust on the mantelpiece?
Luck is on your side…..
Now available from the club shop you can have your favourite moment put on a ceramic mug; they are dishwasher safe and can hold both hot and cold drinks!
If Pinner Rugby Club have your photograph on file / or you have a photograph taken for being player of the week, man of the match or appear on the pitch we can produce a mug with said image.
Examples of mugs produced in the last week
Latest news…… the WOW mug
This is something special; a mug that changes colour and reveals a print, here’s an example
The heat sensitive photo mugs are fantastic fun. The mug will feature your photo and/or a message, underneath a black heat sensitive coating. The coating ‘disappears’ when the mug is hot to reveal your photo and message (which will wow everyone of course!). Due to the heat sensitive coating we recommend you hand wash these ‘magic mugs’.
The cost?
Original fully printed – £5.00 per mug, you may order multiples of the same mug or order several different images on a series of mugs
Wow mugs – £10.00 per mug
How quickly can I get them?
Usually, within a week, orders placed at the shop will be printed and returned the following home game.
Who do I need to see about getting a mug/s made?
Speak to Spud
Can I have different images put on a mug?
More than likely, again discuss what is required with Spud

First words from the new Minis Chairman
August 22, 2011 by paul
Filed under News & Events, miscellaneous
I hope that you are all enjoying your summer holidays and are having a great rest from playing rugby.
Firstly, some of you may not know that I have been voted in as Mini’s Chairman at the AGM in July, a position that I am very proud to take on. It is at this point that I would like to thank Steve George for all the superb work he has done for the past four years. He was instrumental in setting up the mini section at Pinner Rugby Club and through his commitment and enthusiasm we have developed into a great family club who have begun to show the rugby world that we are a force to contend with.
Secondly, a huge thanks to all those who gave up their time to help out during the Rugby Force weekend, you did a fantastic job and your hard work will be very much appreciated by all members of the club.
The new season:
Training and registration starts on Sunday 4th September @ 9.45am. Please bring completed membership forms (included with this letter) and cheques/cash to hand into Jo. All membership taken out by 25th September will qualify for an ‘early bird’ free mouth guard – one more for them to chew on!
‘Club Get Together’ Saturday 27th August starting @ 1pm:
We would like as many players, current, new, ex players and supporters to come down and say hello for the new season. We will have fun touch rugby games between 1st team and Pelicans, youth and mini players/parents for an hour mixing up the teams etc, then watch Ireland v England with a BBQ and a few drinks.
Come down to the club to enjoy the day, catch up with your team mates as well as bringing your friends down to see how friendly our club is. It is an important day to meet up with everyone and see our squads for the new season ahead.
Pinner Rugby Club @ Pinner village Show 17th September 11am – 3pm:
We have arranged to have a stall at the annual Pinner Show to help to promote our club. Hopefully, dependent on numbers, we hope to have some demonstrations by mini/youth players, as well as a raffle prizes and ‘Beat the Bernie’ competition. We require some volunteers to help out on the day. The main aim of the day is to raise the profile of the club and hopefully get some more players to join our wonderful club – my primary aim as chairman this year.
‘Super Sarries Sunday’ 25th September:
As a Saracens RFC partner club we have been able to secure reduced ticket pricing and access to many of the opportunities that Saracens provide. On the final membership session members of Saracens RFC will be coming along to our club with the Aviva Premiership Cup, Saracens mascot and coaches/players from the club. There will be opportunities to meet them, hold the cup, have photographs taken as part of the ‘Pixel’ wall that they are producing as well as your own printed copies. It’s going to be a great morning and not to be missed. More information to follow…..
Now to the nitty gritty!
To try and reduce the number of emails and texts you get from Jo (I am sure you feel bombarded by them at times!!) please use the website for information regarding fixtures/events. This is updated almost daily during the season and hopefully is the first port of call to find out what is going on. Jo has a bulletin board which she has promised me she will use instead of constant emails/texts!! (still can’t see that happening!)
We have a mini section Facebook account which we hope you will join – this will enable to keep upto date with news etc and a place to voice your thought. Pinner RFC has a twitter account, again great place for important information; links to both are on the website www.pinnerrugby.com
We are also trailing/introducing Teamernet which will automatically text you fixture dates/changes, Jo will explain this to parents during membership times.
Following the success of the ‘Rag’ collection we are collecting old clothes and textiles, the idea is that we all collect bags of old clothes and textiles from our own homes, family and friends. Bring them into the rugby club over the next few weeks so we can amass a good weight in textiles, for which a Ragman will come and collect them and give us a nice cheque to go into the Tour account.
Mini Tour Bournemouth 14/15th April 2012:
Last season Pinner RFC Mini section embarked on its first rugby tour to Bognor, I along with many others thought this was fantastic success so we aim to be having another one this season – Paul Parker-Brice (now known as ‘Tour Manager’!) is arranging the tour ask him the question also info posted will be on website (shameless plug again!)
‘Old ‘n’ New bits’
Player of the week will continue for all home training/matches with an addition to present key tag, trophy and photo; I’m not going to divulge yet – it’s a secret
‘Bring a friend’ competition (as above, ssshhhh as secret)
Mini Section 2010-11 Season book still available link on website
Parents: if you have your own business and would like a link put onto the website contact me for information
I hope to see you soon and along with the teams in the 2011 Rugby World cup I am looking forward to a great season of rugby, fun and friendship.
Cheers
Spud
